Project Brainstorm
Having carried out research on your industry, as well as your Industry Skills Gap Analysis, brainstorm a collection of potential projects you could carry out to help fill in one of these gap areas.
Project Plan
Project Portfolio Vision
- Map out a clear vision for your project portfolio – what will the final products look like?
- Write out a goal statement that adheres to the SMARTER goal framework (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound, Evaluated, Reviewed)
- To help you stay focused and motivated throughout the project, define the purpose of your portfolio in a single sentence; why are you choosing to do this particular project?
Deliberate Practise Plan
This plan outlines how you will improve specific skills through focused and structured practice, adhering to a deliberate practice model. Describe how your project plan adheres to the principles of a deliberate practice model by addressing the following aspects:
- Challenge: How will each session aim to push yourself slightly beyond your current abilities?
- Focus: How will each session be aimed at a very specific skill or technique in order to develop it effectively?
- Repetition: How will your sessions feature repeated practice of targeted skills?
- Feedback: How will you gather and review feedback on your progress to assess and adjust your project plan?
GANTT Chart
Your GANTT chart visually represents the timeline and sequence of tasks within your project. It should clearly show the start and end dates of each task, as well as dependencies between tasks (e.g. Task B can only begin after Task A is finished), to ensure effective time management and planning.
Proof of Concept Demonstration
Your proof of concept media asset(s) should demonstrate the core idea of your project in a tangible form. This can be in the format of a piece of audio, video, image(s), or any other medium that best conveys the essential function or vision of your work. They should display work-in-progress prototypes of creative media project material
